Caroline Stills lives with her family in a log cabin, in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges, east of Melbourne. Her writing ambition is to create page-turning stories that encompass important, topical issues.

Caroline has recently completed her first novel manuscript, Imperfect, which she describes as a futuristic thriller. Her dream is to see it in print.

Inspired by her two young daughters, Caroline is passionate about writing for children. She has recently tested the hard-to-crack children's picture book market with her first story, Magic Mummy. She is thrilled and delighted that Black Dog Books have expressed interest in Magic Mummy. All going well, Magic Mummy will be published in 2008. This story was also a finalist in the Inaugural (2006) Kathleen Julia Bates Writing Competition for a picture book (top 10 out of 207 entries).

Caroline joined the Lazy River Writers in 2000, to co-incide with her intent to seriously pursue her interest in writing, and is thankful for their encouragement and support.

As part of her continuing 'apprenticeship' in writing, Caroline has completed several units of a Diploma of Professional Writing and Editing. Her university qualifications include a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters degree in Business.

Caroline has had her stories, articles and photographs accepted by Pendulum, Page Seventeen, Woorilla, Reid's Magazine, Leader newspaper and Phaedra(US). In 2004 she was shortlisted in the E.J. Brady, very short story competition. More recently (2007) she has had a short story accepted for Short and Twisted anthology, and has a film script listed on http://www.australianshortfilms.com

In 2005, Caroline confronted her fear of public speaking, to participate in the spoken-word performance of Scot's Harbour. This anthology, which includes one of her stories, was Highly Commended in the FAW (Federation of Australian Writers') awards, 2003. She has twice had stories travel with the annual Daffodil Day Arts Awards exhibition.
